How to use the love calculator

  1. Type two names — yours and your crush, partner, or best friend.
  2. Click Calculate for your playful compatibility score.
  3. Share the result, laugh about it, and remember what it really is: entertainment.

How the score is made (and why it is only for fun)

The score comes from a deterministic hash of the two names: the same pair always produces the same score, which at least makes it consistent — unlike real compatibility, which depends on communication, shared values, timing, kindness, and a hundred other gloriously unquantifiable things. No algorithm can measure chemistry, and this one does not pretend to. It exists for the same reason as fortune cookies and horoscopes: a moment of fun and a conversation starter. If you get 98%, enjoy the butterflies; if you get 12%, enjoy the joke. Real relationships are built in the real world, one honest conversation at a time — no calculator required.

Frequently asked questions

Is the love calculator accurate?

No — and it does not try to be. The score is generated from the letters in the names by a fixed formula. Real compatibility cannot be computed; this is pure entertainment.

Why do the same names always give the same score?

The formula is deterministic: identical inputs always produce identical outputs. That keeps it fair — no re-rolling for a better number.

Can I calculate friendship or family compatibility?

Absolutely — enter any two names. Best friends, siblings, and celebrity crushes all work the same way.

Is my data saved or uploaded?

No. The names never leave your browser, and nothing is stored. What happens in the love calculator stays in the love calculator.
