Measure your feet for the best fit

Size charts are a starting point, but brands vary — a Nike 10 and an Adidas 10 are not the same shoe. The most reliable number is your foot length in centimeters: trace your foot on paper in the evening (feet swell during the day), measure heel to longest toe, and compare against the brand's own chart. Leave about a centimeter of wiggle room for walking shoes and a little less for snug performance fits. When buying kids' shoes, re-measure every few months — children's feet can jump a full size in a season. And remember that width matters too: if a shoe fits length-wise but pinches, look for wide (W) or narrow (N) variants rather than sizing up.

Frequently asked questions

Are US men's and women's sizes the same?

No. A women's US 8 is roughly a men's US 6.5 — they differ by about 1.5 sizes. Use the category selector to convert correctly.

What does EU sizing mean?

EU sizes are based on the Paris point (2/3 cm per size). An EU 42 is roughly a men's US 9.

Why do sizes differ between brands?

Each brand uses its own last (foot mold). Always check the brand's centimeter chart when precision matters.

Should I size up for running shoes?

Most runners go a half size up from their everyday size to leave room for foot swelling on long runs.
