How to use this template

Start with education: school, degree, graduation date, GPA if it is 3.5 or higher, and three or four courses relevant to the job. Hiring managers screening entry-level roles look here first, so give them specifics instead of a bare degree line.

In Projects, treat every meaningful piece of work like a job entry: a one-line description, the tools you used, and the result. "Built a budget tracker in Python that reconciled 500+ transactions" beats "Class project" every time. Internships, campus jobs, and volunteer roles belong in the experience section with real action-verb bullets — customer service, deadlines met, and training delivered all count.

Keep the whole thing to one page. Drop the GPA and coursework lines once you have two or three years of work experience, and always export the finished resume as a PDF before applying.

Frequently asked questions

Should I include my GPA?

Only if it strengthens your case — generally 3.5 or above, or if the job posting asks for it. Otherwise leave it off; nobody will ask, and the space is better used for projects.

Do class projects really belong on a resume?

Yes, when they are relevant. A project with a clear description, tools used, and a measurable outcome shows exactly the skills entry-level postings ask for. Pick two or three strong ones and drop the rest.

How long should an entry-level resume be?

One page, always. With limited experience, concision is the signal — every line should earn its place. Two pages with thin experience just look empty.

Is this template ATS-friendly?

Yes — single-column layout, standard headings, no graphics or text boxes. Keep your project and skills descriptions keyword-rich, since ATS software matches them against the job posting.
