How to use this template
Start by replacing the bracketed placeholders with your own details: name, contact info, job titles, companies, and dates. The gray italic text is just guidance — delete it as you fill each section in, or leave the structure and type right over it.
Under Work Experience, rewrite each bullet to start with a strong action verb (Led, Built, Increased, Cut) and end with a measurable result wherever possible. Hiring managers skim, so numbers like "grew revenue 18%" or "cut onboarding time in half" do the heavy lifting.
Keep it to one page if you have under ten years of experience; two pages is fine for senior roles. Save the finished file as a PDF before sending it out — PDFs preserve your formatting on every device, while Word files can shift between versions.
Frequently asked questions
Is this resume template really free?
Yes. Download it, use it for as many applications as you like, no account or payment. It is supported the same way as our free tools — advertising on the site.
Will it work in Google Docs?
Yes. Upload the .docx to Google Drive and open it with Google Docs; the layout carries over. Always double-check formatting before exporting your final PDF.
Is the layout ATS-friendly?
Yes — it uses a single-column layout, standard headings, and no text boxes or graphics, which is exactly what applicant tracking systems parse best.
Can I change the colors and fonts?
Absolutely. Everything is built with Word styles, so change the accent color or fonts once and the whole document updates. Keep it professional: one accent color, one font family.
