How to count business days
- Choose whether to count days between two dates or add business days to a date.
- Enter the dates (or the number of days) and choose whether to skip U.S. federal holidays.
- Add any extra days off, such as company holidays, separated by commas.
Weekends, holidays and observed dates
Business days are Monday through Friday. By default the start date is not counted, so from Monday to Friday of the same week is 4 business days; turn on "Count the start date" to include it.
U.S. federal holidays are New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. When a fixed-date holiday falls on Saturday it is observed on Friday; on Sunday, the following Monday.
Banks, courts and businesses may follow different calendars (many businesses stay open on Columbus Day and Veterans Day), so add or remove days to match your situation.
