How "fancy fonts" actually work
These are not really fonts. Social media apps do not let you change fonts, so this tool swaps each letter for a look-alike character from the huge Unicode standard, which every modern phone and computer supports. There are complete alphabets of bold, italic, script, fraktur, double-struck and monospace letters (originally meant for mathematics), plus circled, squared, full-width and small-capital letters.
Because they are real characters, they paste anywhere text is allowed. A few cautions: screen readers often read these characters letter by letter or skip them, so avoid using them for important information or entire posts. Search engines and in-app search may not match fancy text to normal words, and some older devices show empty boxes for the rarer styles.
The best use is a short accent: your name in a bio, a section header in a caption, or a gaming username. Keep the important words in normal text so everyone can read and find them.

Frequently asked questions
Will these fonts work on Instagram and TikTok?
Yes. They are standard Unicode characters, so they paste into Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, Discord, YouTube and most apps.
Why do some styles show boxes?
A device that lacks a font with those characters shows empty boxes. Bold, italic and script are the most widely supported.
Are fancy fonts accessible?
Not very. Screen readers may read them as individual math symbols. Use them sparingly and keep key information in plain text.
Do numbers and punctuation change?
Some styles include matching numbers (bold, double-struck, monospace, circled, full-width); punctuation stays as-is.
