Private PDF merging

Most online PDF tools upload your files to their servers to process them. That is a real concern for contracts, bank statements, medical records and anything with personal information. This tool uses the open-source pdf-lib library to do all the work inside your browser tab: the files are read from your disk, combined in memory, and the result is saved straight back to your device. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it will still work.

Every page is copied exactly as it is, including text, images, vector graphics and page sizes, so mixed letter and A4 documents merge cleanly. Bookmarks and interactive form fields from the original files may not carry over, and password-protected PDFs need to be unlocked in a PDF reader first.

Common uses: putting scanned pages together into a single application packet, combining invoices for an expense claim, attaching supporting documents to a cover letter, or merging chapters into one file for printing.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDFs uploaded?

No. Your files never leave your device. Everything is processed by JavaScript in this browser tab, so there is no upload, no queue, and no copy kept on a server.

Is there a file size or file count limit?

There is no fixed limit. Very large files (hundreds of MB) depend on your device's memory; a modern computer handles typical documents easily.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Encrypted PDFs need to be opened and saved without a password first, for example by printing them to PDF from your reader.

Will the quality change?

No. Pages are copied, not re-rendered, so text stays sharp and images are not recompressed.
