How to remove blank pages from a PDF
- Drop a PDF onto the box or click "Choose PDF". Every page is checked automatically.
- Blank pages are highlighted in red. Click any page to change whether it is removed. For scans, choose "Scanned pages" detection.
- Click "Remove blank pages and download" to save the cleaned-up PDF.
How blank pages are detected
Each page is drawn on your device and measured: a page counts as blank when it has no text and almost no non-white pixels. Normal detection allows a few tiny marks, such as a stray dot; Strict removes only pages that are completely empty. Scanned pages detection ignores paper texture, specks and faint shadows, which is what the blank back of a scanned sheet usually contains.
Nothing is removed until you confirm. Every page appears as a thumbnail, so you can check that a nearly empty page, such as one with just a page number or "This page intentionally left blank", is handled the way you want. Click a page to switch it between keep and remove.
Duplex scanners and phone scanning apps are the most common source of blank pages: scanning a stack of single-sided letters in double-sided mode produces a blank page after every real one. Removing them halves the page count and makes the file easier to read.

Are my files uploaded?
No. Your PDF is opened and processed by JavaScript in this browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server and no copy is kept.
Will it delete pages that only look blank?
Pages with any text are never flagged. Very faint pages may be, so check the highlighted thumbnails before saving and click any you want to keep.
Why were my scanned blank pages not found?
Scans often have specks, shadows or a gray tint. Choose "Scanned pages" detection to ignore them.
Does it change the remaining pages?
No. The pages you keep are copied exactly, with the same quality and searchable text.
Can I remove other pages too?
Yes. Click any page to mark it for removal, blank or not. For bigger changes, use Delete PDF Pages.
