How to run a Secret Santa online
- Enter the event name, budget and date, then list everyone taking part, one name per line.
- Add exclusions for people who should not draw each other, such as couples or roommates. Exclusions work in both directions.
- Click "Draw names". Then either click "Copy link" next to each name and send it privately, or use "Reveal" if everyone is in the same room. Each link shows only that person's match.
Fair, private name drawing
The generator shuffles names with your browser's secure random number generator and makes sure nobody draws themselves or anyone they are excluded from. If the exclusions make a valid draw impossible (for example three people who all exclude each other), it tells you instead of producing a broken result.
Private links let the organizer join in without spoiling the surprise. Each link carries that one person's match in the web address, lightly scrambled so it is not readable at a glance. Nothing is stored on our servers and no one has to sign up or share an email address. Do not open other people's links if you want to stay surprised.
Tips for a smooth exchange: agree on a firm budget, set a date for gifts to be delivered or exchanged, and encourage everyone to share a short wish list. For remote groups, ask people to add their mailing address to the wish list in a shared document.

Can I take part if I am organizing?
Yes. Send everyone, including yourself, their private link and do not open anyone else's.
How do exclusions work?
Each line names two people who should not draw each other, in either direction. Separate the names with a comma.
Is my list saved?
No. The draw happens in your browser. The only copy of each match is in the private links you send.
What if someone loses their link?
Copy it again from the results while the page is open, or run a new draw and resend all the links.
