How to use this template
Write the procedure clearly enough that someone else could repeat it exactly.
Record data as you go, with units in the column headings, and run multiple trials.
In the analysis, describe patterns in the data and possible sources of error.
The conclusion should say whether the data supported the hypothesis, not whether you "proved" it.
Frequently asked questions
Is this lab report template really free?
Yes. Download it, use it as often as you like, and share it with your team. No account, no email, no watermark. The site is supported by advertising.
What is a hypothesis?
A testable prediction, often written as "If ___, then ___, because ___."
What are controlled variables?
Everything kept the same between trials so only the independent variable changes.
Can I use it in Google Docs?
Yes. Upload the .docx to Google Drive and open it with Google Docs, or open it in Apple Pages or LibreOffice Writer. The layout and tables carry over.
