Etsy fees explained (U.S. sellers)
Etsy charges a $0.20 listing fee, which is also charged again for each additional item sold in a multi-quantity order. The transaction fee is 6.5% of the item price plus the shipping and gift wrap you charge. Payment processing through Etsy Payments in the U.S. is 3% of the total the buyer pays, including sales tax, plus $0.25 per order.
If a buyer finds you through Etsy's Offsite Ads, Etsy charges an extra 15% of the order (12% if your shop made more than $10,000 in the past 12 months, when participation is mandatory), capped at $100 per order. Optional Etsy Ads, currency conversion and some country-specific fees are extra.
In the U.S., Etsy collects and remits sales tax for you, so the tax is not income, but the processing fee still applies to it. A healthy Etsy price covers materials, your time, all fees and shipping with room for profit; use the target-profit result to set a price that works. Fees can change, so check your Etsy payment account for the exact charges on each order.
