How to convert audio to MP3
- Drop one or more audio files.
- Choose MP3 (and a bitrate) or WAV, and mono or the original channels.
- Click Convert, then download each file or all of them as a ZIP.
Choosing a format and bitrate
MP3 plays everywhere. 128 kbps is fine for speech and podcasts, 192 kbps is a good default for music, and 320 kbps is the maximum quality. WAV is uncompressed and lossless, roughly 10 MB per minute, ideal for editing.
Converting from one lossy format to another (for example M4A to MP3) cannot restore detail lost in the original; it just changes the container and codec. Start from the highest-quality source you have.
Converting to mono halves the size and is perfect for voice recordings; keep stereo for music.
